The H mart is more than your typical asian supermarket. They have people giving our samples of things they carry and also they carry a lot of things in bulk and unique brands too. It reminds me more of a Costco than an asian market because of the variety of things they carry and also the sampling factor, which I love!
One of my favorite products I get most often here is canned lychee, which is cheap for the size you get, and so is the lychee drinks that come in a can and thai iced tea. Tastes just like when you get it at the boba places but is only $1 for a drink! They carry so many different brands for products I saw a lot of restaurant owners stalking up on supplies here.
The frozen mochi ice cream flavors are amazing here too!
Good thing it's a bit of a drive from my house. Otherwise, I'd spend and spend here.
Groceries are a tad bit more expensive than the other asian markets I'm used to.
What I like here is the pre-packaged food. Mashed potatoes, seasoned spicy squid things, and especially the sweet filefish jerky. YUMYUMYUM
Also, sometimes dead lobsters go for $4-5 a pound. I jump on that deal sometimes and ask my sweet momma to cook it asian style in tamarind and garlic sauce and I'm content with life. So much better than going to the re$$$taurant for lobster.
They also have sales on LIVE lobster once in a while, too 🙂
Last thing I like is their display case of sushi and sashimi. For 4-5 bucks, I can get salmon sashimi which I can use to make some philly rolls at home. So good and inexpensive. The cuts are good quality, fresh.
They have the party platter size for 50 bucks and this is a super deal. A whopping platter. Sushi place would cost you waaaayyy more.
