Pre-Event

How do I register for the World Peace Gathering?

You can either:
Go to the website wpg.compassheart.com and click on Register.
Call 714-631-7981 (Vietnamese and English)
If you are in Orange County, you can go to iTC (12201 Brookhurst St., Garden Grove, CA 92840) and fill-out the registration form.

I am having trouble with online registration. What can I do?

Please call the above phone numbers, report the problem and register by phone.

Do I have to pay to attend the World Peace Gathering?

There is no charge to attend this event.

Is the World Peace Gathering open to everyone of all faiths?

Yes, this is not a purely religious event. Activities in this event promote spiritual practices, which are a common denominator of all religions. But the Buddha Names and ceremony is Buddhist based.

Is there an age limit to attending the WPG?

The WPG event is organized for everyone who is ten (10) years and older.

Do you have name of hotel and any special rates reserved for people who attend the WPG?

Will there be transportation available for pick-up/drop-off at the airport?

We do not provide transportation to/from the airport.  However, you can go to our website wpg.compassheart.com for transportation information.

Will there be transportation available for pick-up/drop-off from Orange County to Long Beach Convention Cetner?

Yes, we will provide free shuttle service from our Integral Taichi Center in Garden Grove to Long Beach Convention Center at designated times only.  Please visit our website wpg.compassheart.com for transportation information and schedule.

What language(s) will the teachings/talks/prayers be in?

The teachings and talks will be given in Vietnamese and English with translation to Chinese.
The prayers will be in Vietnamese while the mantra recitation and Buddha’s names chanting will be in Chinese.

What is the dress code for the event?

Casual attire is the dress code of this event.  Since we will have Meditation, Integral Tai chi and Bowing in the program, we encourage you to wear loose, comfortable clothing that you can easy move about.

If you have black or gray robes, you can wear them for the Bowing ceremony. For Peace Mandala event, black or gray robes are required.

What do I need to bring to the event?

Please bring a sweater or jacket in case the air conditioning in the room gets cold.  Long Beach Convention Center is also near the ocean, thus it may get breezy and chilly in the evening.

Is there a list of jobs that I can choose from and help with?

Yes, you can either go the website wpg.compassheart.com and click on Volunteer Sign-up (Ghi Danh Volunteer), fill in the form and submit, or give us your email address and we will forward you the form.

I would like to donate to help with the cost of organizing the event. How do I do donate?

Indoor Program

What are the directions to the event?

Please go to website wpg.compassheart.com for detailed direction and parking instruction.

How do I provide names/pictures of my loved one(s) to the prayer session for transferring merit?

Please go to website wpg.compassheart.com and click on Cau An (Prayer for Wellness) or Cau Sieu (Prayer for the Deceased) to fill out the form. You will be able to add a picture of your loved one(s) to the prayers.

You can bring a picture with name, date of birth or passing-away date (for Prayer for the Deceased) or reasons for praying (for Prayer for Wellness) to the event.

What programs are provided in the WPG?

Meditation, Integral Taichi, Praying for World Peace, Bowing, Peace Mandala

What are the hours of the program activities?

WPG program will be from 8AM – 9PM, for all three days.  Please click here for the schedule of program activities.

Do I need to attend all of the activities?

We highly recommend that you attend all of the various activities we have scheduled to get the full spectrum and experience of our World Peace Gathering.  Each activity has a specific topic of interest, purpose and benefit with the ideas of practice, insight, and learning from each activity.  You do not need to attend all three days if your schedule does  not allow.  You can come any day, any time.  However, since activities are different each day, we encourage you to participate as much as you can to get all the benefits.

Are walk-in registrations allowed?

Yes, however, we would appreciate if you could pre-register for us to do an accurate head-count for meals.

What is the meditation session?

The meditation session consists of a short, guided peaceful sit to learn to relax the body and the mind from the daily stresses and worries of life.

Do I need to have some prior experience about meditation to attend?

No, you don’t need any prior experience in meditation to attend the event.

What is Integral taichi?

Integral taichi consists of Ten forms movement that integrate body and mind.  It is a combination of Tai chi, chiqong, breathing, relaxation and meditation.  Please click here for more information on integral taichi.
